I am currently using the writing feature, but it only allows me to input one character at a time rather than recognizing whole words. For example, when I want to write a phrase like 'ni hao,' I have to write each character separately. This disrupts the flow and makes it difficult to read the characters in context. Is there a setting I can change to enable word-level recognition so I can write full words together?

The Chinese Writer app is designed for learning to write individual characters. The reasons are: - Chinese characters are difficult to learn and typically some characters in one word may be easy and other difficult. By handling them one by one the tool will automatically allow more training on those which were tested wrong more times. - By concentrating on individual characters the design allowed for a game kind of approach. - Finally : our trainchinese Dictionary and Flashcard application is focused on learning words and even phrases considering all aspects which include writing of all characters of the word or phrase, checking the recognition based on an audio, checking for the ability to translate and to read. So would strongly suggest to use the Dictionary and Flashcard app as the main app. There you can train everything. Use the test as flashcards to allow for the real writing experience (in Multiple choice you would need to compare written texts). |
