Problem 2 occours when the sound mode is switched on. Means the learning mode where you have to listen to the word and then underdstand it. If I press in this situation the button for more information which shows me first the character then the pinyin and then the meaning in english the button will be grey but nothing happens. After this failure the other button which turns around the card immediatly has no function either. It get\'s grey but no effect. Then neither the right nor the wrong button work. I can only escape this situation by pushing the \"back\" button on my mobil. I have no idea how my card is judged (learned or not learned) in such case. This problem is reproducable, means it happens quite often. I can only avoid it by switching to silent that means I skip this learning mode. This bug occours when the sound mode is switched on. This was a bug with earlier versions of the app. The current Android version (2.7) works well (Also the iOS version does work well)
Now on Android once you used the Hint button several times the reveal all button will become light gray - as it already is showing the whole card, but the OK and not OK buttons are available and can be used to evaluate the card. |

Dear Klaus, I use "trainchinese for Android 2.7" and have Android version 4.0.3. The failure occurs every time I want to use the audio files. So now I can use the software only in the Silent (-show pinyiin instead of playing audio) mode. In some cases the failure occures when I interrupt the training (switch of the device and want to go on to a later time). But that's not as predictable as the obove failure with the audio mode. The failure of the oder versions was similar. I know it and the behaviour of the failure has changed a bit.

We have problems to reproduce the behavior we tried many times the following: - Train in Recognition mode with audio switched on, - After audio was played, press the hint button (will display the pinyin text) - Then press again on Hint, will display the Chinese characters - Then press again and will show the translation in English. The reveal card button will become in-active (gray) as will the hint button (because both buttons make no more sense as all is displayed already). The other 3 buttons OK, Not Ok and Audio are still available and work correctly. When testing we tried all kind of things but it would always work well. Is there anything special in your case? Are you using Simplified Chinese? With Colors and tone marks? Do you have any idea of something else that could be affecting that behavior? Do you hear the audio playing at the beginning? |
