When training: six choices are presented: Play audio, Not sure, Flip card, Hint, I know(1) ... and Know well. What does the "Know well" button actually do, please? I've never been able to see any difference between "I know" and "Know well", I suppose there is a difference? If I click the "Know well" button, the card seems to go to sleep just the same as if I click on "I know". Hovering over the button without clicking it produces "Click here to pass this learning mode for the card", but I'm sorry, I don't understand that. What does "passing a learning mode" mean? The card isn't tested? or else, it's considered known?, or, some other thing happens? I'd be grateful for any enlightenment.

I know - you will see it during training Know well - it means you know it very well, won't show up in training in the foreseeable future. Passing a learning mode: all different modes are randomly shown during training; passing one mode means the card won't show up again in this round of training. When you pass a card in all modes, it will go to sleep. OK, thankyou Lisa, for your answer. But when I click on "Know well", the card gets a yellow "sleeping" icon, and not a green "memorized" icon. So in the resulting list, it looks just the same as if it had been only marked as "I know". |

And to add to that: I clicked on "Know well" for two of my cards (挖 wā v. dig, excavate; and, 醋 cù vinegar, both in my list D0000) just as a test, as an experiment. And they both duly went to "sleeping". And now, two days later, they are both showing red "active card", and if I train the list, they they are presented to be trained. It's all just as if I had only clicked on "I know" in the first place. So this original question has - perhaps - now become a possible error report. ? Maybe. I'm quite happy using "I know" and "Not sure", I don't think I really need "Know well". So, I can leave this little observation for your information, if you wish? I was just curious to know what difference "Know well" actually made. It doesn't seem to work for me, in the way you suggest. Please note: none of this is a complaint, far from it. I am getting much satisfaction from using trainchinese's excellent website, and perhaps now - at last - making a little progress. So, thankyou |

On our website trainchinese.com, depending on the Passing conditions under More..., it might require you to click on I know multiple times before that specific mode is passed, and the card goes to sleep. When you click on I know well, that specific mode will not show up in that round of training again. |
