认同 vs 拥护
1. 认同 can mean "to identify (with...)", "to associate or regard (someone) as having strong links with...". 拥护 does not have this meaning.
2. 认同 and 拥护 can both mean "to endorse". The difference is that the object of 拥护 is more specific -- it's usually a leader, political group, policy or measure. Examples:
- 这次事件以后,拥护总统的人越来越少。 After this incident, fewer and fewer people supported the president.
- 他的政治主张得到了大家的拥护。His political views get everyone's support.
The object of 认同 is more general -- one's opinions, points of view, etc.

认同 (rèn tóng) is used to express approval or endorsement of an idea, opinion, or statement. It is often used to express agreement with someone else's opinion or to show that one identifies with a certain idea or belief. For example, one might say "我认同你的观点" (wǒ rèn tóng nǐ de guān diǎn) to express agreement with someone else's opinion.

The words 认同 (rèntóng) and 同意 (tóngyì) have related but distinct meanings. 认同 (rèntóng) means to identify with or acknowledge someone's viewpoint or beliefs, while 同意 (tóngyì) means to agree with something or someone. So, they can overlap in some contexts, but they are not exactly the same.
