接 (jiē) is used to indicate the action of picking up, meeting, welcoming, catching, or getting hold of something. For example, 我们接了他们的电话 (wǒmen jiē le tāmen de diànhuà) means "We picked up their call". 接 can also be used to indicate the action of connecting two things, such as 我们接上了电脑 (wǒmen jiē shàng le diànnǎo) which means "We connected the computer".

接 (jiē) is used when you are picking up or meeting someone, or when you are catching or getting hold of something. For example, 你去接他 (nǐ qù jiē tā) means "you go to pick him up".
In contrast, 送 (sòng) is used when you are sending someone or something away. For example, 你去送他 (nǐ qù sòng tā) means "you go to send him away".
