In China, the practice of giving 小费 (xiǎofèi), or "tips," is not common.
In some Western cultures, there are certain guidelines on when to give 小费 (xiǎofèi):
1. Higher-end restaurants.
2. Hotels if you receive exceptional service from hotel staff, such as bellhops or housekeeping.
3. Taxis if the driver goes out of their way to help you or provides exceptional service.

Other words that have the same meaning as 小费 (xiǎofèi) are 打赏 (dǎshǎng), which means "to reward" or "to give a tip", and 赏金 (shǎngjīn), which means "reward money".
