媳妇 (xífu) is used in more informal contexts. It is a term of endearment used to refer to one's daughter-in-law, and is usually used by the older generation. It is not used in formal contexts.
In contrast, the more formal term for "daughter-in-law" is 女婿 (nǚxù).
