Hi there! We mark characters of different tones in different colors so that we can identify them easily when reading the Chinese characters. This helps us remember the tones so that we don't need to always refer to the Pinyin.
The first, second, third and fourth tones are marked in red , yellow, green and blue, respectively. And the neutral tone is white.
If you do not like to see the colors, you can go to Account Settings and switch off the Tone Colors.
Hope this answered your question! Do not hesitate to reach out to us again if you have other questions. :)

生意 (shēng yì) is used more in spoken Chinese than in writing. This is because the word is relatively informal and is used in everyday conversations. In writing, more formal words such as 交易 (jiāo yì) are used instead.
