How is 盖 (gài) used in a sentence?
Show 1 reply
"建" (jiàn) and "盖" (gài) both refer to the act of building or constructing, however, they are slightly different.

1. "盖" is more informal than "建" (jiàn).

2. "建" typically means to "construct" or "erect" a building or structure, such as a bridge. "盖" more specifically refers to the act of completing the upper part of a building. We rarely use "盖" to say "build a bridge" unless the bridge in question has an enclosure that has a roof over it.
