Is it OK to use "正常" for positive situations and "不常见" for negative situations? So for example would we rather say " 在离火金的地方露营很正常" but "商人在李火金的地方见面是很不常见的", and not ".....是很不正常的"? Thanks!

"正常" (zhèngcháng) and "一般" (yībān) both relate to the idea of normalcy or usualness, but they are used in slightly different contexts:

"正常" (zhèngcháng) typically means "normal," "regular," or "standard." It implies that something is functioning or occurring in the expected or typical manner, according to established norms or standards. "正常" (zhèngcháng) is used to describe situations, conditions, behaviors, or states of being that are considered normal or within the expected range. It often implies a sense of correctness, healthiness, or stability.

"一般" (yībān)can mean "general," "ordinary," or "typical." It implies something that is common, average, or typical, without necessarily indicating whether it is normal or abnormal. "一般" (yībān) is used to describe things that are ordinary or typical without necessarily implying any judgment about whether they are normal or abnormal. It is often used to describe common or average situations, conditions, behaviors, or qualities.
