元宵节 (yuánxiāojié) is associated with activities such as eating 汤圆 (tāngyuán), which are glutinous rice balls, and watching 舞狮 (wǔshī, lion dances). People also hang up 灯笼 (dēnglóng, lanterns) and set off fireworks (焰火, yànhuǒ). It is also a time for family reunions (团圆 tuányuán).
