除夕 (chúxì) is often used in Chinese New Year greetings to wish someone a happy and prosperous New Year. For example, one might say 恭喜发财,新年快乐,除夕快乐 (gōngxǐ fācái, xīnnián kuàilè, chúxì kuàilè) which translates to "Wishing you wealth and a happy New Year, and a happy Spring Festival Eve".
