闻到 (wén dào) is a verb that means "to smell, to sniff something out, to perceive by smelling" in Chinese. It is pronounced as "wén dào" with the first tone on both characters.
Example 1: 我闻到了一股香味。(Wǒ wén dào le yī gǔ xiāng wèi.) I smell a fragrance.
Example 2: 狗的嗅觉很灵敏,它们可以闻到很远的气味。(Gǒu de xiù jué hěn líng mǐn, tā men kě yǐ wén dào hěn yuǎn de qì wèi.) Dogs have a keen sense of smell, they can sniff out scents from far away.
