一点(儿) can be used after an adjective. E.g. 便宜一点儿; 请慢一点儿说! (please refer to the example sentences).
一点(儿) is used to make comparison. This comparison can be between two objects or two situations. In case of comparing situations, 一点(儿) is often used to compare an ideal situation that one hopes for and the reality. Therefore, 一点(儿) often appears in an imperative sentence to express one's expectation or requirement:
Example 1. 快一点儿,我们要迟到了。 [phr] Hurry up, or we'll be late.
In the sentence above, the speaker wants to hurry up and be faster.
