自以为是 (zìyǐwéishì) and 相信自己 (xiāngxìn zìjǐ) both refer to having confidence in oneself, but they differ in the degree of confidence. 自以为是 (zìyǐwéishì) has a derogatory meaning; it implies an excessive level of confidence, where one believes that they are always right and infallible.
