逃课 (táo kè) is a Chinese word that is used to refer to the act of skipping or cutting a class. It is appropriate to use this word when talking about a student who has deliberately chosen to not attend a class, either for a legitimate reason or for an illegitimate one. It is not appropriate to use this word when talking about a student who is absent due to illness or other unavoidable circumstances. In such cases, the word 缺课 (quē kè) is more appropriate.
