In informal conversations, 其中一个 (qízhōng yīgè) is used to refer to one of a group of items or people. For example, someone might say 你们其中一个 (nǐmen qízhōng yīgè) to refer to one of the people in the group. It can also be used to refer to one of a group of options, such as 你可以选择其中一个 (nǐ kěyǐ xuǎnzé qízhōng yīgè) to refer to one of the options available.

其中一个 (qí zhōng yí ge) is used to refer to one of a group of items. For example, if you are talking about three different types of food, you could say "其中一个是蔬菜 (qí zhōng yí ge shì shūcài) - one of them is a vegetable".
