Hi there! Here is the difference:
- 请求 / 請求 [qing3 qiu2] (v) to ask, to request, to solicit, to petition; (n) request, solicitation, petition
- 要求 / 要求 [yao1 qiu2] (v) to demand, to ask, to require; (n) requirement, demand, claim
They can both be translated as "to ask" but please note that 请求 has more "politeness" in it, while 要求 is more direct.

要求 (yāoqiú) is used to express a demand or requirement. For example, a teacher might say: “我要求你们每天都要完成作业 (wǒ yāoqiú nǐmen měitiān dōu yào wánchéng zuòyè)”, which means “I demand that you all complete your homework every day”. It can also be used to express a request, such as: “我要求你给我一个答案 (wǒ yāoqiú nǐ gěi wǒ yīgè dá'àn)”, which means “I ask you for an answer”.
