值得 vs 合算:
值得 is a verb meaning "to deserve, to be worth" and it can be followed by verbs or verbal phrases. Examples:
- 值得深思 be worth thinking deeply about
- 值得仔细考虑 deserve careful thinking
- 值得注意 deserves to be paid attention, worth noting
- 这本小说值得读一读。 This novel is worth reading.
- 今后值得关注。 From now on, it's worth one's attention.
合算 can be a verb or an adjective. When it is an adjective it means "worthwhile, being a good deal", and 合算 cannot be used in the examples above to replace 值得.
When 合算 is a verb, it means "to calculate, to reckon" - 值得 does not have this meaning.
