强调 VS 着重

1. 着重 can be used with 于 before we add the object, while 强调 is followed directly with the object.
E.g.
这本书着重于对事实的分析。 This book is focused on the analysis of facts.
我们过去侧重理论，而现在强调实践。 We placed special emphasis on theory in the past, now we stress practice.

2. 着重 is often used as the adverbial of a sentence, while 强调 cannot be used in that way.
