瞒 (mán) means "to conceal" or "to hide" in English. It is often used to describe the act of keeping something secret or not revealing the truth.
Example 1: 他瞒着家人，偷偷地买了一辆新车。(Tā mánzhe jiārén, tōutōu de mǎi le yī liàng xīn chē.) He hid it from his family and secretly bought a new car.
Example 2: 她一直瞒着男朋友，直到最后才告诉他真相。(Tā yīzhí mánzhe nán péngyou, zhídào zuìhòu cái gàosù tā zhēnxiàng.) She kept it hidden from her boyfriend until the end and only told him the truth later.
