都 and 也 are often paired with 连:
连...都...
E.g. 伯父和伯母结婚的时候，连新被子都没有。When uncle and aunt got married, they did not even have new quilts.
连...也...
E.g. 我只是开玩笑，他却连话也不愿意和我说。I was just kidding, but he is not even willing to talk to me.
