伤脑筋 (shāng nǎo jīn) is commonly used in a sentence to describe something that is bothersome, knotty, or troublesome. It can also refer to a situation or problem that is difficult to solve or figure out.
Example 1: 这个问题真是伤脑筋,我已经想了很久也没有找到解决的办法。(Zhè gè wèn tí zhēn shì shāng nǎo jīn, wǒ yǐ jīng xiǎng le hěn jiǔ yě méi yǒu zhǎo dào jiě jué de bàn fǎ.)
This problem is really bothersome, I have been thinking for a long time but still haven't found a solution.
Example 2: 我不想再和他讨论这个话题了,太伤脑筋了。(Wǒ bù xiǎng zài hé tā tǎo lùn zhè gè huà tí le, tài shāng nǎo jīn le.) I don't want to discuss this topic with him anymore, it's too troublesome.
