Dear team,

do you plan to offer a German version (esp. for the dictionary and flash cards) for your programs/Apps in future, too?
I would appreciate it :-)

Greetings from Shanghai.

Having German speaking colleagues in our company, we eventually will consider German -  but currently there is no specific plan to add German to our dictionary (for at least the next 6 months).

As you may have noted we just added Russian  (after Spanish) as the 3rd language and adding an additional language in fact is a considerable task (our dictionary in the meantime has gown to more than 60,000 words and phrases!), so such a work needs quite some time to be finished as all translations need to be prepared once and then will be checked another time before we can release them.

PS: In case you are using flashcards you can use the Notes field of each card to include texts in German if you like - and use the settings to show you the notes instead or along the English translations provided by us.

Dear Klaus,

Thanks a lot for your very quick and friendly reply. I am very satisfied with your App on the iPhone and it keeps me learning Chinese, since I can use it everywhere (no excuses anymore!).

I have realized that option about the "notes" just after I have posted this question, thanks for reminding me about that.

I realized that using the \"notes\" can not handle the German special characters and it will be replaced with a question-mark. Is it possible for you to allow German special characters? Thanks ...

We found the error and it is fixed now - you can add the German special characters also from the Mac now.

Sorry for that!
